Things are set in motion. I just got a call about financial aid to help me fix my bad teeth and I got approved! So yesterday I booked the first appointment and will in April start the long and painful, but eventually good, process. Today I pulled 2 cards. The 5 of Swords and Knight of Swords. The knight with sword held high, charging on his horse. And the 5 swords with the middle one poking and prodding the weave. Look at the hilt of that middle sword. It reminds me of the scroll around the 2 of coins, something moving, twirling, in flux. The Knight has a moon-face on his shoulder, much like the Charioteer. I see this as meaning I need to face some of my deep set fears. The penetrating swords is uncomfortable too but necessary.

Disciplined thinking. That is the catch-phrase for today. I took my Cosmic Tribe Tarot and asked the cards What am I attracting – What am I repelling? (I call this the Magnet spread, I think I made it up – or I unconsciously stole it…)
What I attract: Knight of Swords is a challenger but also a protector and even a guide. He stands for mental force, an agile intellect, rash perhaps too quick to judge at times, but there is something pure about him too. Here I had to cover up his private parts cause I am not sure if WordPress would shut me down for some full frontal nudity. But see his owl-wings and the light from his brow.
9 of Swords is what I repel and it stands for clouded thinking, anxiety, nitemares and obsessing over things I feel powerless to change. There are birdwings here too, but the poor little creature are almost ripped apart, over-powered by the mesmerizing swords. We move in Yeshod here, the sphere of the Moon and dreams and things are not what they seem, it is easy to get lost.
(Interesting to note here are the ‘missing’ cards, the cards in the gap: 10 of Sword for the Ruin, the rock bottom, the over-kill and then Page of Sword for the childlike curiosity, the fresh start. We can almost read them all together – backwards)
I been lacking in the blogging department but for good reasons, sometimes one just gotta step to the side and get other kinds of experiences, like just living, socializing, reading and live in the seconds of a forever Now! I have been looking at the Mary-El a lot though, but not actively reading with it or even journaling much. And as you all see – blogging even less. Some of the cards I pulled this week though is of course The Tower (been deep into the world of Stephen King and Roland and his ka-tet traversing the Beam of the Bear to the Dark Tower) But also this chap (yes a Dark tower reference, right now Susannah/Mia is searching for the Dixie Pig where she is to have her chap) The Knight of Swords. I am a huge fan of owls and even though this one got spooky yellow and crazy eyes it works for me. Marie White did a very simple chart for the courts with just a few words. For the Knight of Swords she writes just ‘on a quest for Mind’
What is this Mind though? Sometimes it is hard to separate this elusive Mind from the heart. In general the reason why so many swords are negative is that they deal with worry, anticipated emotions, heart-stuff not yet in the heart/body. Swords are like arrows, they point in a direction, they are sharp with potential for great harm, but also they are not there yet. This Knight is on a Quest, not yet there. Like Rolands Ka-tet is spending at least 6 books just in the anticipation of getting there. But like any reader and author worth her salt, we all know that the Path is really the story, this is where we Live.
Oh and Charlie is as ever the watchful guardian of the tarot:
